You must pickup the fry in the month of July.

These Orange Youkihi Medaka Ricefish are excellent beginner fish, they are hardy and have stunning colour. They are very peaceful and active in the aquarium, always searching around occupying all areas of the aquarium if there is lots to explore. They do really well outdoors in container ponds during the spring/summer and into the fall.

Ricefish are cool water species and do not require a heater and their filter requirements are minimal. Although they can tolerate temperatures much higher than the average nano fish, ideally maintaining the water in the 60’s-70’s F is ideal. a room temperature aquarium is perfect if they are kept indoors. They do not like much water flow in the aquarium so a sponge filter is the way to go.

• KH - 12 - 25 dGH (sometimes enters brackish waterways) 
• Tank Size - minimum 10 gallons for a group
• Omnivore - it is important to feed them a varied diet including protein and vegetable matter for their health but they are not picky eaters.

Average Adult Size: 1.5inches (4cm)

Average Purchase Size: newly hatched fry will be very small- 1cm possibly less.
