Ricefish / Medaka- Oryzias Latipes sp. “Assorted”

Ricefish/Medaka are an excellent beginner fish, it is one of the hardiest available species and has a fantastic personality. They are very peaceful and active in the aquarium, always searching around occupying all areas of the aquarium if there is lots to explore

Planted tanks are ideal for them.

These Ricefish do not require a heater and their filter requirements are minimal. They do not like much water flow in the aquarium so a sponge filter is ideal.

• Tank Size - minimum 10 gallons for a group
• Omnivore - it is important to feed them a varied diet including protein and vegetable matter for their health but they are not picky eaters.

Average Purchase Size: .5 – 1 inch (1.3 – 2.5 cm)
