Water Lettuce (Pistia Stratiotes)

Water Lettuce is a highly adaptable floating aquarium plant that creates shade and grows long roots, making it a great plant for shrimplets and fry to hide in. 

The plant has green leaves that grow like a rosette and resemble cabbage, or lettuce, making this plant very attractive.

• Ideal Temperature - 65° - 77° F (18° - 25° C)
• Light - medium (It can withstand high lighting, but only if it is slowly introduced to it)
• pH - 6 - 8 
• KH - 3 - 18 dKH
• Range - 1.2” - 1.6” (3cm - 4cm) (In a large open environment, it can grow up to 6” (15cm)
• Propagation -  Runners
• Origin - Tropical and subtropical areas
• Difficulty - easy
